Durability



The batons have good stiffness and are designed to withstand all movements during normal conducting.


However, the batons are more vulnerable than those made of fiberglass, carbon and heavier types of wood, when it comes to other physical stress. They are absolutly not suitable for knocking against music stands.


 





All standard batons are made of cork and balsa alone to achieve super light weight.


Thanks to the perfect combination of balsa and cork, the stick naturally balances around the joint.


All handmade from woods selected for best stiffness and low wight.  





  

This feeling of a super light living stick is achieved by choosing the right piece of wood, adjusting shape of shaft, taper, tip, and balance point. 


All these properties playing together in harmony brings the stick to life.




Action



Balance point around the joint is achieved without extra weights placed in the knob. 


Stiffness is high to medium, and can be adjusted  to you by selecting different peases of balsa wood.


The balsa shafts have very low weight while still having some surface. This allows one to feel the resistance in the air during conducting.

Stiffness varies slightly from stick to stick. Made from natural materials, this is inevitable. However, I do my best to choose the same stiffness for Your sticks, if you order more than one.

If you have special wishes beyond the dimensions and materials that apply to the standard pins, you can send a request for this. I only make batons with shaft of balsa. The knots I make mainly with cork, for the best grip, but often combined with other types of wood.


The examples below are still super light (4-7g) despite the fact that other heavier types of wood have been used in the knob/handle. This is achieved by hollowing out parts of the knob/handle. These batons balance in the handle near the conjunction. But sil  somewhat further towards the tip in relation to the total length.
