VIENNA +

- wooden sleeve

This is a variant of Vienna with a wooden sleeve in the joint. This makes the handle a little more durable where the cork is thinnest.

The piece of wood also makes the stick feel a little stiffer.

Some variations of Vienna +. Available in different shapes.

CUSTOM handle

I also do this

I do also make sticks with handles at the request of the customer.

This is more time consuming and these therefore have a higher price range than the Vienna model.

the BALANCE

- near  the conjunction

Here is the balance point of some variations of Vienna +.

All are just outside the junction.

This is the preferred location for most of my clients.

why BALSA

- unique features

- Low density

- Low weight

-Proper volume

- Good stiffness to weight ratio

Together with the correct shape and a fine-tuned, light handle,

this gives the batons the sensitive but strong response.

why HANDMADE

- the only way

My experience is that total control of the process can only be achieved by making the batons by hand. Each shaft must also have a custom handle where the center of gravity of the mass is placed correctly to balance the stick perfectly.

Sandpaper, mini planer and razor blade.

The three most commonly used tools in the process.
